Kamala Harris, Nancy Pelosi, Stephen King and more react to President Joe Biden address
President Joe Biden's emotional farewell speech has been met with widespread praise from celebrities and politicians, who are hailing his leadership and legacy. The 81-year-old incumbent announced his exit from the 2024 presidential race and endorsed Vice President Kamala Harris for the Democratic nomination in a primetime TV speech from the Oval Office.
Celebrities and politicians took to social media to express their admiration for Biden's leadership and commitment to public service. Blacklist founder Leonard Franklin and author Stephen King both praised Biden's speech, with Franklin calling it a "hell of a speech" and King saying it was "hell of a speech."
Other notable reactions came from Hollywood donors and former Obama adviser Mitch Landrieu, who praised Biden as "one of our greatest Presidents" and "simply the most consequential president of our lifetimes." Star Trek: Picard star Jeri Ryan called Biden a "truly good, good man" and urged her followers to "win this for him."
Kamala Harris's campaign team also praised Biden's speech, sharing a clip of his remarks on Twitter. Wendell Pierce, a former star of The Wire, tweeted that Biden's presidency was one of "restoration" and praised his commitment to democracy.

Even potential presidential candidate and California Governor Gavin Newsom took to Twitter to thank Biden for his service. Yvette Nicole Brown, a former actress and current college president, praised Biden's character and leadership, saying he had a "Jimmy Carter vibe" and was a "lifetime servant leader."Former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi also weighed in, saying that Biden had been "one of America's most consequential presidents" and had made a "tangible difference" in the lives of the American people.
