Travis Kelce defended his teammate Kadarius Toney after the wide receiver was hit hard during the Kansas City Chiefs training camp on Wednesday.

During the team's scrimmage, defensive end George Karlaftis slammed Kadarius Toney to the ground after he caught a pass from quarterback Patrick Mahomes.

The cheap shot upset many on the offense, including Kelce, as they were not wearing full pads and the hit could have led to an injury.

Meanwhile, Kelce, 34, rushed across the field and had a confrontation with the 23-year-old.

The three-time Super Bowl champion confronted Karlaftis face-to-face, bumping helmets before giving him a gentle push.

Though they were quickly separated, the two continued to argue as Karlaftis walked toward the sideline.

Meanwhile, the veteran tight end went back to the huddle to get ready for the next play.

This isn't the first instance of tensions rising between Kelce and one of his teammates at the beginning of training camp.

Last July, Kelce threw a punch at teammate Jack Cochrane for attempting to take the ball from him.

After catching a touchdown, Cochrane tried to grab the ball from Kelce's hands, prompting the tight end to hit him on the back of the head.

Following the close call, the two started arguing and pushing each other until another teammate intervened to separate them.

Kelce later acknowledged losing his temper, tweeting, “Gotta be a better teammate gotta be a better leader… plain and simple.”

Although tensions have already risen, they are likely to increase further when the team starts wearing full pads on Friday.

The Chiefs veterans arrived at training camp earlier this week after a few months off following their 2024 Super Bowl victory.

Kelce spent much of his off-season traveling globally with his girlfriend Taylor Swift, who is nearing the end of the European leg of her international Eras Tour.

The "Cruel Summer" singer has roughly a month of shows remaining before taking a three-month break until November 14, which means she will likely be able to attend the first half of Kelce’s games.

Swift was a regular presence in the stands during the Chiefs' last season, frequently attending games with her celebrity friends and Kelce's family.
