In a bold departure from her earlier image, JoJo Siwa has debuted a daring new look reminiscent of Miley Cyrus' iconic Bangerz era during a recent performance and music video appearance.

The 21-year-old singer, known for her vibrant persona from her Dance Moms days, showcased a striking ensemble at Trixie Mattel’s Pride Disco show in New York City's Central Park on June 29. Siwa took the stage wearing a red, silver, and black bra adorned with teddy bear heads over her shirt, complemented by matching hot pants, red boots, and a teddy bear headband.

Fans captured moments where Siwa halted her performance to confront a heckler who booed her, demonstrating her newfound confidence and assertiveness.

This bold fashion statement wasn't a one-time event; Siwa also sported the teddy bear outfit in her latest music video for "Guilty Pleasures," released on July 12, signaling a deliberate shift in her artistic direction.

Siwa has openly acknowledged drawing inspiration from Miley Cyrus' career trajectory, particularly Cyrus' transformation from a Disney Channel star to a provocative pop artist during her Bangerz era in 2013.

Reflecting on her admiration for Cyrus, Siwa remarked in an interview with Alex Cooper on the Call Her Daddy podcast in April 2024, "When I was 8, that's when Miley had her Bangerz moment, and I thought, 'All I want is to have that one day.'"

Siwa's evolution includes breaking away from her Nickelodeon music contract two years ago to explore new musical avenues and express herself more authentically.

Meanwhile, Cyrus, now 31, has reflected on the controversy surrounding her 2013 MTV Video Music Awards outfit, which featured a fuzzy gray teddy bear bodysuit. In a segment for British Vogue's Life in Looks video series in 2023, Cyrus described the outfit's inspiration from a Todd James sculpture, acknowledging its polarizing effect on audiences.

JoJo Siwa's embrace of a more mature and daring image signals her intent to carve out a new chapter in her career, resonating with fans who have eagerly embraced her transformation.
