KARACHI:

Following the recent drowning incidents at Sandspit Beach, the Keamari police have intensified security measures to keep picnickers away from the raging waters.

The high tides of monsoon had become more vicious during the full moon dates of Muharram 13 to 18. To ensure public safety, Section 144 has been imposed, prohibiting bathing in the sea.

Violators will face legal action, and a case will be registered against them. To enforce this ban, a heavy police presence has been ensured at popular beaches, including Hawke's Bay, Sandspit, Manora, and French beaches. SSP Keamari, Captain (retd) Faizan Ali, has reiterated the importance of adhering to the government orders, emphasising that Section 144 has been in place so that people should not try to kill themselves by jumping into raging waters particularly when they don't even know how to swim. The SSP has warned that case would be registered against the violators of Section 144.
