Dr Disrespect posts mysterious photo amid sexting scandal fallout
Dr Disrespect, known off-screen as Herschel "Guy" Beahm IV, recently posted a mysterious photo on his X, formerly Twitter, account, just weeks after revealing the reason behind his 2020 ban from Twitch.
Dr Disrespect confirmed he was banned for messaging a minor, following allegations made by two former Twitch employees. The admission led to significant backlash online, and monetisation on his YouTube channel has since been suspended.
In a recent update, Dr Disrespect changed his X profile header to an image of a fishing float with an angry face, set adrift in choppy waters. The dark, moody picture has led some social media users to speculate that the fishing float might symbolise a holiday or reflect his current emotional state, especially after announcing an extended break during his last stream.
Dr Disrespect, who has over 4.60 million subscribers on YouTube, was permanently banned from Twitch in June 2020 for then-undisclosed reasons. He resumed streaming on YouTube a month later.
In June 2024, it was disclosed by former Twitch employees that his ban was due to sexting a minor via Twitch's Whisper feature in 2017. Beahm confirmed the nature of the ban, characterising the messages as "inappropriate." Following this revelation, YouTube suspended his channel from the partner programme and demonetised it.
