J. Cole vs Vince Staples debate explodes on Twitter: here’s his response

Rap fans have long enjoyed debating which rapper reigns supreme. Iconic rivalries include Jay-Z vs. Nas, Drake vs. Kendrick Lamar, Lil Kim vs. Foxy Brown, and Cardi B vs. Nicki Minaj. Recently, social media has sparked a new debate: J. Cole vs. Vince Staples.

As with many online debates, this one began with an account sharing a controversial opinion that sparked backlash. The post claimed, “There’s not a single thing Vince Staples does better than J. Cole.” 

Within an hour, a dissenting fan responded, “I’m a J. Cole fan but Vince does just about everything better than Cole.” This ignited a flurry of comments, with various people joining in to support or challenge the original statements.

Naturally, the most amusing reply came from Vince Staples himself. While fans were busy comparing the two rappers, Staples had a typically cheeky response, tweeting, “You n****s need jobs” and adding, “So passionate about hip hop but I’ve yet to see one of you weird ass n****s break dance.”
