As soon as Kamala Harris announced her presidential candidacy, many TikTok users created remixes of the US Vice President's speeches, incorporating her signature laugh into Taylor Swift songs.

Following US President Joe Biden's announcement that he would not seek re-election and would endorse Vice President Kamala Harris, pop music fans took to social media to express their support.

Amid increasing concerns about Biden's age, 59-year-old Harris seems to have energized voters on social media and engaged in politics differently than the President.

When Harris announced her presidential candidacy, numerous TikTok users began sharing remixes of the US Vice President's speeches, incorporating her laugh into songs by Mitski, Taylor Swift, Beyoncé, Charli XCX, and Kim Petras.

On Sunday night, Charli XCX posted "Kamala IS brat," referencing her latest album, "Brat."

Pop star Kesha posted two TikTok videos featuring Harris's "coconut" quote, timing the beat drop to follow the word "tree."

Katy Perry, whose hit song "Roar" was a key element of Hillary Clinton's 2016 presidential campaign, shared a montage of videos featuring Harris. The remix included snippets of Harris laughing and saying "coconut," set to Perry's new song "Woman's World." Perry sings, “It’s a woman’s world, and you’re lucky to be living in it.”

Will Taylor Swift endorse Kamala Harris in the US presidential elections?

Fans are now speculating whether Taylor Swift will endorse Kamala Harris. If the American singer does, it could suggest that the world's most famous performer is prepared to use her significant cultural influence to support Harris's historic bid to become the first Black woman and the first Asian American woman to be US president.

Forbes named Swift the fifth most influential woman in the world due to her ability to reach millions of social media followers.

Kase Wickman, a contributor to Vanity Fair, noted that Swift's endorsement of Harris would be “an incomparable asset to the former California senator's nascent 2024 presidential campaign.” 

On Sunday, the "Swifties for Harris" account was created on X. While it is not connected to Swift, the account has quickly gained over 19,000 followers.

Swift has previously made an impact on politics by leading efforts to register voters for local, state, and federal elections. In 2020, the American singer-songwriter "proudly" endorsed Biden and Harris, stating that their presidency would aid in healing the nation following Trump's encouragement of racism and white supremacist sentiments during his term.

Although there were reports that the Biden campaign reached out to Swift earlier this year, the singer has remained silent about her position on the November election. Meanwhile, Trump and his daughter Ivanka Trump have been making efforts to recruit Swift to their side.

Will Swift choose to support Kamala Harris in the US presidential race instead of backing Ivanka Trump?

Ivanka Trump recently conveyed her family’s appreciation for the "Bad Blood" singer on her daughter Arabella's 13th birthday. Arabella's party featured a Swift-themed heart-shaped cake, as displayed in the Instagram photos shared by Ivanka.

In one photo, the white frosting of the cake features the phrase "Boys only want love if it's torture" (sic), a line from Swift's hit song "Blank Space," as noted by Wickman. The image also includes red candles shaped into the number "13," symbolizing both Swift's favorite number and Arabella's age.

Another photo depicts the cake cut into slices. Vanity Fair notes that the bright, blood-red frosting resembles the cake Swift stabs in her "Blank Space" music video. Ivanka captioned the picture, “Best cake for my favorite Swiftie.”

In his new book Apprentice in Wonderland, Donald Trump previously praised Swift, describing her as “very talented” and “very beautiful, actually.” However, he also expressed disappointment over her “liberal” views.

Just before Super Bowl LVIII began in February, Trump claimed on his Truth Social platform that there was “no way” Swift would endorse a Biden-Harris ticket. It appeared to be a warning from Trump, suggesting that Swift wouldn’t want to appear “disloyal.”
