‘Jagte Rehna’ depicts climate change threats

RAWALPINDI:

A play titled “Jagte Rehna” was presented in the Punjab Arts Council (PAC) under the patronage of “Sar Sabz Punjab” under the vision of Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz. The play aimed to highlight climate change and the importance of planting trees.

The play was written by Sikandar Ali, while the drama was composed by Mian Fayyaz. Director of Arts Council Sajjad Hussain was the chief guest, while special guests included former director of Arts Council Waqar Ahmed, Deputy Director of Information Muhammad Owais and Muhammad Safwan Munir.

Director Sajjad Hussain, speaking on the occasion, said that climate change was a bitter reality which had been denied for years but now it had become the biggest challenge of the 21st century. “Trees act as oxygen for us and are a means of protection from environmental pollution. It’s good that the Punjab government is creating awareness through stage drama,” he added. Hussian congratulated all the artists for presenting the best drama.

A large number of the audience watched the play.
