Two bodies, apparently mother-daughter, found on garbage dump

In an extremely disturbing incident, the tortured bodies of an unidentified woman and a young girl were found on a garbage dump at Korangi Causeway on Tuesday. The women, who appear to be mother and daughter, might have been stoned to death as their heads appear to be smashed with stones.

The mother-daughter duo might have been killed late Monday night, while the bodies were discovered on Tuesday morning, according to Korangi Industrial Area police station in whose jurisdiction the area falls. Police shifted the bodies to JPMC for medico-legal formalities. Khalid Mehmood, SHO of Korangi Industrial Area police station, told The Express Tribune that no personal belongings were found on the victims to help in their identification. He confirmed that blood-stained stones, believed to be the murder weapons, were recovered from the crime scene. The bodies, estimated to be a few hours old, suggest a brutal and recent attack.

Police have sent fingerprints of the deceased woman and girl to NADRA in hopes of establishing their identities.
