Anna Faris found unexpected joy in portraying a villain in the action-comedy sequel 'My Spy The Eternal City.'

Known for her comedic roles, Faris stars alongside Dave Bautista, Chloe Coleman, Ken Jeong, and Kristen Schaal. Surprisingly, her character, initially perceived as a strict vice principal, is revealed to be the antagonist seeking revenge.

"It was surreal. It was such a joy," she shares about her role. Faris elaborates on her character's motivations, explaining, "In my head she's totally heartbroken. She is seeking vengeance for the assassination of her husband."

This twist was a challenge for Faris to keep under wraps. "I've been training myself to not reveal anything," she admits.

Faris highlights the thrill of portraying a villain, noting, "I love that I got hired for this awesome job and I got to have fire under my eyes and feel angry and vengeful. It was fantastic."

A memorable scene for Faris involved getting punched by a civilian in front of the Vatican. "We did this scene in front of the Vatican on a weekday. I mean, the whole thing is packed. I'm in this crazy leather outfit and my character gets punched really hard by an older Italian woman and everyone is watching," she recalls.

"I felt like if this isn't one of the coolest moments of my life, I don't know what is!"

Reflecting on her co-star Dave Bautista, Faris describes him as a "gentle giant with quiet charisma," adding, "He's a very special human."

'My Spy The Eternal City' is now streaming on Prime Video.
