Green dress TikToker asks Gen Z club goers: “Do we need to teach the girls how to wear heels?”

Christine said that before posting the video, she went clubbing and had breakfast with Kevin Hart's tour manager.

TikToker Rae Christine has discovered an important lesson on avoiding virality.

Last week, the content creator and sports PR specialist shared a TikTok of herself going to Drai's After Hours in Las Vegas, but wondered if Gen Z still wears heels to parties.

Don’t get me wrong I believe in being comfortable but I don’t think the club is the place for that 😅😭😂 #lasvegas #fyp #nightlife #clubbing

"I don’t know what’s happening to club culture but the girlies are not wearing heels in the clubs anymore," Christine said in the video, mentioning that she's 34 years old but doesn't think she looks it.

“Do we need to come out of retirement and teach the girls how to wear heels, or like what heels you need to shop for when going out to the club?"

"Part of the thrill of going to the club is dancing on the couch in your heels," she continued.

The TikTok has garnered nearly 17 million views and is approaching 1 million likes. It resonated with viewers, some of whom mocked Christine's green tube dress paired with heels reminiscent of a '90s Monica music video. However, on Sunday, Christine posted a follow-up video (seen above), clarifying that the original TikTok started as a joke before gaining widespread attention.

I’m still trying to wrap my mind around it all, but I do want to thank people who have sent supportive messages! #girlinthegreendress #greendress #greendressgirl #girlinthegreendress

"Oh my goodness, you guys, I had no idea this video was going to blow up like this at all," she began, with her white heels and dress humorously positioned behind her.

"Clearly, I didn't think this was gonna go as far as it has."

Christine, who works in marketing and public relations, explained that she was "genuinely joking" and has "dry humor" that doesn't always "come across very clearly or as intended all of the time."

"I was joking about looking my age. Clearly, I know I look whatever age you all think that I look," she said. "It is up for debate in the comments. But I am aware that I don't look like somebody who is young 20-something, that she be in the club."

Christine clarified that she didn't intend to sound judgmental. She has taken harsh responses in stride and even plans to make a reaction video to some of the funnier comments.

In another part of the TikTok, Christine mentioned that before posting the first video, she and her friends went clubbing and had breakfast with Kevin Hart's tour manager. After staying up all night, she posted the video at 7:30 A.M.

"Half of my eyelashes [were] hanging off. I know I did not look good," she said.

Christine concluded by thanking those who supported her and encouraged everyone to wear "whatever they want" at the club.
