Drake fans release 'Family Matters' game mocking Kendrick Lamar's Grammy wins
On the heels of Kendrick Lamar’s "Not Like Us: The Game" release last week, Drake fans quickly responded with their own creation, "Family Matters: The Game," inspired by Drake’s scathing diss track.
In the game, players shoot Grammy Award trophies into Kendrick’s mouth as he raps, “Kendrick just opened his mouth, someone go hand him a Grammy right now.”
As the levels progress, the game's difficulty increases with Kendrick’s head moving side-to-side while a digitized version of the "Family Matters" instrumental plays.
The game's credits mock Lamar’s streams, claiming, “Made by some real ones to prove a point. That Not Like Us game was trash.
KBots backdooring the plays like Kendrick’s Spotify, haha.”
Currently, the high score is listed at 19 by a user named Ron.
The game's X account challenged media outlets, saying, “Let’s see if @Complex, @XXL and all the other sites run with the Family Matters Game like they did the other game. Someone send this ish to @Akademiks.”
Drake fans found the game amusing, with one person commenting, “Nah this is hilarious whoever made this.”
The feud between the fan bases shows no signs of dying down.
However, the Billboard Hot 100 tells a different story.
On the July 20 chart, Kendrick Lamar’s “Not Like Us” returned to No. 1, while Drake’s “Family Matters” fell off completely.
Drake released “Family Matters” on May 4, but Kendrick quickly countered with “Meet The Grahams,” clearing the way for “Not Like Us” to deliver the final knockout punch.
