Lionel Messi is taking a well-deserved break! After suffering a ligament injury during the Copa América final on July 14, the soccer legend, 37, embarked on a relaxing yacht trip with his wife, Antonela Roccuzzo.

“🌊☀️🩵,” the 36-year-old Argentine media personality captioned an Instagram carousel on July 22.

In the first image, the couple, married since 2017, posed together on a yacht. Roccuzzo sported a hot pink bikini, while Messi wore red swim trunks, sitting with a boot on his injured foot. Roccuzzo's wet hair indicated she had been swimming, while Messi appeared to prioritise his recovery.

Joining the couple were Messi's Inter Miami teammate, Luis Suárez, and his wife, Sofia Balbi. Also present were Brazilian motocross racer Mariana Balbi and her partner.

Roccuzzo also posted a video on her Instagram Stories showing Messi relaxing on a sofa with his foot brace, sipping from a cup.

Following Argentina's victory over Colombia 1-0 in the Copa América, Messi shared his joy with his family.

“Family thank you for always being there,” Messi captioned an Instagram photo with Roccuzzo and their three sons, Ciro, 6, Mateo, 8, and Thiago, 11.

Roccuzzo expressed her pride as well.

“CHAMPIONS OF AMERICA🇦🇷🇦🇷🇦🇷🇦🇷LET'S GO ARGENTINA!!!” she wrote, accompanying two family photos with blue and white heart emojis.

The family wore jerseys supporting Messi’s team. Messi’s achievements continue to inspire admiration even among his peers.

In an interview with The Times of London, David Beckham, co-owner of Inter Miami FC, discussed the significance of bringing Messi to the U.S. after a competitive bidding war.

“We always knew there would be competition,” Beckham, 49, said.

“The time I got a bit worried was when Barcelona showed interest. The club obviously pulls on his heartstrings and he never really got to say the goodbye he deserved there," Beckham added, referring to Messi’s 17 seasons with Barça.

Reflecting on Messi's reported $20.4 million contract with Inter Miami, Beckham said, “It still gives me goosebumps.”
