On the last day of Cancer season, Selena Gomez marked her 32nd birthday with a beachside celebration that perfectly matched the water sign’s vibe.
The singer and actress previewed the upcoming celebrations with a post earlier in the week, expressing her appreciation for being surrounded by “human beings that make me better, challenge me, remind me day after day that every moment is a gift”.
She shared, “That’s my pure joy,” and added, “I’m grateful to God for this era. It’s been the best one so far.”
Her heartfelt messages continued throughout her birthday week, with a special one dedicated to her boyfriend, musician Benny Blanco. Sharing photos from the warm celebration, Gomez posted a picture of them embracing, captioned: “Love of my life”.
Such expressions of affection are typical for the couple. They were friends for over ten years before transitioning to a romantic relationship in late 2023. Blanco responded to the public display of love with a heartfelt post on Instagram shared by Gomez.

Later that day, Gomez posted photos showcasing her beach-themed makeup and offered a sneak peek of her birthday outfit: a bright yellow romper from Free People paired with a gold necklace featuring a ‘B’ initial. Blanco echoed JAY-Z’s lyrics, writing: “I got the hottest chick in the game wearing my chain”.
Gomez had previously discussed her experience of being single in her late 20s, sharing how her wish to start a family created mixed emotions about her future. "I spent five years alone, and I became quite accustomed to it," she said.
“A lot of people are afraid of being alone and I probably tortured myself in my head for like two years being alone, and then I kind of accepted it. Then I came up with my plan, which was I was going to adopt at 35 if I had not met anyone.”
It turns out she had already met 'the one' but only recognized it much later. As Gomez reflected in her 2014 single, the heart wants what it wants.
