Saif Ali Khan credits Rani Mukerji's advice for successful marriage with Kareena Kapoor
Saif shared invaluable advice he received from his close friend, Rani Mukerji, which has significantly shaped his relationship with Kareena.
During an interview, Bollywood star recounted the wisdom Rani imparted to him when he first started dating Kareena. He stated, “I remember what Rani told me once when we had just started dating. She said, ‘Just behave like you are in a relationship with a man.’”
Expanding on Rani's advice, Saif explained, “She meant don’t get into the gender of it. Treat it like equal, like you’ve got two heroes in the house. Two people working and then you will have no problems. And I think she is absolutely right.”
Saif admitted that he grasped the essence of Rani's words immediately and still reflects on that advice occasionally. "It's about two equals making a positive contribution to the house. One is taking care of the kids while the other works," he explained.
Saif Ali Khan and Rani Mukerji, who have starred together in several films such as "Hum Tum" (2004), "Ta Ra Rum Pum" (2007), "Thoda Pyaar Thoda Magic" (2008), and "Bunty Aur Babli 2" (2021), share a close off-screen friendship.
Saif further highlighted how Rani’s advice addressed the complexities of gender roles, emphasizing the importance of equality in their relationship.
"She was addressing the question of whether it's acceptable for a wife to work extensively while the husband takes care of the household. What she meant was, of course, it is acceptable! Offer her the respect of equality – that's what she was emphasizing." stated Saif.
