Alec Baldwin and wife Hilaria make first red carpet appearance since 'Rust' case dismissal
Alec Baldwin and his wife Hilaria attended a screening of "War Game" at the Hamptons International Film Festival’s SummerDocs series in East Hampton, New York, marking their first red carpet appearance since the dismissal of Alec's involuntary manslaughter case. The "30 Rock" star wore a dark blue jacket, light blue shirt, and gray pants, while Hilaria donned a light pink dress with cream high heels.
Baldwin was seen smiling and posing with the filmmakers. The event comes after Judge Mary Marlowe Sommer dismissed Baldwin’s involuntary manslaughter case with prejudice last Friday. Baldwin had accidentally shot and killed cinematographer Halyna Hutchins and injured director Joel Souza on the set of the Western film "Rust" in 2021. The judge ruled that the prosecution concealed evidence from Baldwin’s legal team, stating, "There is no way for the court to right this wrong." The dismissal with prejudice means the same charge cannot be brought against Baldwin again.
Baldwin expressed his relief and gratitude on Instagram, writing, "There are too many people who have supported me to thank just now. To all of you, you will never know how much I appreciate your kindness toward my family." Following the courtroom decision, Baldwin, Hilaria, his brother Stephen Baldwin, and his legal team celebrated at a hotel bar in Santa Fe, New Mexico. The celebration was captured by a camera crew connected to a documentary by filmmaker Rory Kennedy.
The next day, Baldwin generously tipped the hotel staff before traveling to Albuquerque airport and flying back to Teterboro Airport in New Jersey on a private plane.
