Jamie Lee Curtis will not be part of the second season of Netflix’s "One Piece," despite widespread speculation. Executive producer Becky Clements confirmed that Curtis, a longtime fan of "One Piece," won’t play Dr. Kureha due to scheduling conflicts.

Curtis’s love for "One Piece" is well-documented, with her favorite character being Chopper. The rumors about her involvement began when she tweeted a photoshopped image of her head on Dr. Kureha’s body, saying, “The Internet has spoken and mommy needs a job.” However, Clements told Deadline, “She definitely wanted to do it, but she’s got deals in first position, and it just became complicated.”

Curtis’s recent success includes roles in "Knives Out," "Everything Everywhere All At Once," and "The Bear," where she delivered a standout performance. Her busy schedule has made her a highly sought-after actress, which unfortunately led to the conflict with "One Piece" Season 2’s filming schedule.

While Curtis won’t be joining the cast, Clements mentioned, “We have found an amazing person” for the role of Dr. Kureha, though the new cast member's identity remains undisclosed.

Confirmed cast additions for the upcoming season include Callum Kerr as Captain Smoker, Julia Rehwald as Tashigi, Ty Keogh as Dalton, Rob Colletti as Wapol, Werner Coetser as Dorry, Brendan Murray as Brogy, Jazzara Jaslyn as Miss Valentine, Clive Russell as Crocus, David Dastmalchian as Mr. 3, Camrus Johnson as Mr. 5, and Daniel Lasker as Mr. 9. This extensive list of new characters expands the series’ already rich roster, though the final cast list has yet to be revealed.
