Dave Portnoy’s conspiracy rant on Biden’s resignation: calls Democrats “scumbags and devious”
Dave Portnoy accused Democrats of “trying to hijack democracy” following President Joe Biden's withdrawal from the 2024 presidential race against Donald Trump.
The Barstool Sports founder shared his thoughts on X on Sunday about the startling news while sailing in Nantucket, Massachusetts.
“The big news, Joe Biden says he’s not running for re-election, which will conclude probably the greatest negotiation in the history of America,” he remarked in a video.
Portnoy, 47, speculated that there had been a deal to persuade the 46th president to step down from the upcoming race, questioning, “How much did they have to pay the Bidens? What was his retirement package?”
The media personality also criticized the 81-year-old politician, calling him a “lettuce head” and “vegetable.” He accused the Democratic party of knowing that Biden had “dementia” and was “unfit” to serve.
“He’s been this way for years and the Democrats have been hiding it,” Portnoy asserted, claiming that Biden was “forced out of the party” because “no one trusts him.”
Portnoy also claimed that the president’s advisors doubted his ability to defeat Trump, 78, in the election and intentionally delayed until after the Democratic primary to choose a different candidate.
Though Biden endorsed Vice President Kamala Harris, Portnoy argued that “there is no way [Harris] would have been the nominee if Joe Biden dropped out before the Democratic primary” because she wouldn't have been able to win against other candidates.
“How they waited this long is insanity and they’re trying to hijack, basically, democracy,” he added.
“They’re not letting people vote.”
Portnoy also refuted accusations of being a Trump supporter, stating, “That’s just not true. But the Democrats are such jokes and scumbags and devious. You have to vote for the other guy because of what the Democrats are doing.”
He added, “This is obvious he was going to step down, but now what a f–king joke.”
Portnoy is among the numerous celebrities who have commented following Biden's decision to withdraw from his re-election bid after serving just one term as president.
