LAHORE:

A rescue air ambulance has transferred a patient for the first time in the country.

Halima Bibi, a 40-year-old resident of Mianwali, had been paralysed after a roof collapse two days ago and was successfully transferred in the 'Golden Hour' by an air ambulance.

Dr Raza Naseer supervised the operation. It was imperative to move her to a larger hospital for urgent treatment and the district headquarters hospital's surgeon in Mianwali recommended her transfer to Rawalpindi.

Following Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif's directive, the woman was airlifted from Mianwali to Rawalpindi.

The chief minister highlighted the importance of the initiative, stating, "Timely and quality healthcare is the right of every citizen of Punjab, and it will be ensured."

In a social media post, CM Maryam Nawaz announced the commencement of Pakistan's first air ambulance operations and emphasized the swift rescue and transfer of the critically injured patient.

Meanwhile, Provincial Information Minister Azma Bokhari stated, "What could not be achieved in 76 years despite repeated promises, our government has made possible in less than four months."

“Under our government, every promise and project will be fulfilled in record time,” she added.
