Governor Kundi fires fresh salvo at CM
The verbal war between the Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Sardar Ali Amin Gandapur and Governor Faisal Karim Kundi has escalated following the sending of a defamation notice to the Governor.
The verbal attacks and counter attacks continued for the second consecutive day on Sunday.
Governor Kundi, while addressing a rally in Mansehra, said that the chief minister is from his area and he knows him well. He said, “I am in possession of a button which controls him, I can turn it off whenever I want.”
In his speech, he mentioned that the law and order situation in the province is extremely poor. The provincial assembly and cabinet should call a meeting to discuss this issue. He said that although the chief minister has sent a defamation notice, one who has no honor cannot claim defamation.
The governor remarked that those who used inappropriate language against Maulana Fazl Rehman are now visiting him. He challenged PTI to first return the seats to Maulana and then issue statements in his favor. He also warned the CM that any language used against him will be responded to in the same manner.
Responding to the governor, K-P Information Advisor Barrister Muhammad Ali Saif said that the idle governor is making hateful statements against the provincial government to gain media attention.
The governor has a very weak memory. Lawlessness in the province was at its peak when his party was in power both federally and provincially. During this time, it was impossible to travel from Peshawar to DI Khan.
Barrister Saif said that the governor has forgotten the days when he used to travel from DI Khan to Peshawar via Islamabad. After taking office, the governor has become an uninvited guest in K-P.
The governor should respect his office before attending events without an invitation. After being continuously rejected and unemployed for 12 years, the governor has become like a genie asking ‘Tell me what to do now’.
He said that the governor has no work to do, so he is keeping himself busy by making such statements.
