Workers Rights: Labour minister meets workers

The Sindh government is keen to restore the rights of workers and implement labour laws.

KARACHI: The Sindh government is keen to restore the rights of workers and implement labour laws, said Amir Nawab Khan, the provincial labour minister. He said that all efforts are being made to restore the 4,711 workers dismissed by the Karachi Electric Supply Company. He was talking in a meeting with the general secretary of Pakistan Workers Federation, Khurshid Ahmed. According to Khan, measures were also being taken to dismiss criminal cases against the workers but they would be consulting the chief minister, IG Sindh, and the chief executive officer of KESC. He said that the labour department will attempt to restore the relationship between the KESC administration and its workers.
