Interfaith harmony pivotal for peace: Kundi

Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa Governor Faisal Karim Kundi on Saturday stressed the urgent need for interfaith harmony calling it pivotal for fostering peace.

He said this during a visit to Gurdwara Bhai Joga Singh, Jogian Shah. Accompanied by PPP’s provincial president Muhammad Ali Shah Bacha, former minority wing leader and ex-MPA Kishwar Kumar, Nasib Chand and regional president Misbahuddin, the governor received a warm reception from Sikh community leaders, including Singh Sahib Sajan, Dr Sahib Ji, Baba Mahender Singh, Baba Ameer Singh, and Magan Singh.

Speaking on the occasion, Governor Kundi said that minority are the backbone of our country. He said that targeting the Sikh community in Peshawar is condemnable.

“Peshawar has witnessed sacrifices and sorrows. It tells the tale of martyrdoms, including martyred Qamar Abbas, Bashir Bilour, and Safwat Ghayur, journalists, and others from all walks of life,” he said.

While acknowledging past efforts for peace during the caretaker government, Governor Kundi expressed concern over current challenges. “We will not be silent spectators but active contributors to restoring peace. Today, I bring a message of peace restoration,” he said.
