Young man beaten to death

An Imam of a mosque and his three associates allegedly beat a young man to death within the jurisdiction of Zaman Town police station.

According to SHO Malik Ashraf, the victim, 24-year-old Muhammad Hussain, a resident of Sector 50-C, was sitting outside his house in the morning of Saturday when Ziaul Haq, the prayer leader of nearby Masjid Gulzar-e-Habib, along with his three associates, reached there and started beating him. They took Hussain with them and later dumped his body outside his residence.

After discovering his son's body showing signs of torture at their doorstep, the victim's father, Sabir Ali reported to police who rushed to the site and shifted the body to JPMC for post-mortem.

Police are searching for the suspects - Ziaul Haq, Ayuh, Sunil and Achi who are currently on the run.

Area people were of the opinion that the victim Hussain, a drug addict, was allegedly involved in theft cases which may have triggered the fatal attack by the prayer leader and his accomplices.
