Man kills pregnant wife over baby’s gender
A man and his brother-in-law clubbed his pregnant wife to death with sticks after finding out through an ultrasound examination that she was expecting a girl.
According to the police, Syed Mudassir Abbas, a resident of Chak 210RB Lakhwana in Kharrianwala stated in his complaint that her 28-year-old sister Aiman Fatima had been married five years ago to Nadeem Sajjad and the couple had two daughters.
The suspect Nadeem had an ultrasound of his wife, after which the doctor revealed that the baby was a girl. The suspect had an altercation with his wife.
The suspect beat up his wife on July 16 and she told her family about her ordeal. Her relatives went to her home along with Inam Haider and Irfan Haider to sort things out between the couple. The brother-in-law of Nadeem, Phool Abbas, was also present.
During an altercation, the suspects attacked the victim with sticks and she fell to the ground after being hit on the neck. The complainant stated that Nadeem Sajjad and his brother-in-law punched and clubbed the victim and severely and escaped from the spot.
The victim’s family took her to a hospital, where she died during treatment.
The complainant accused Nadeem of having murdered his wife Aiman out of resentment for giving birth to daughters.
The police registered a case under Sections 302 and 34 of Pakistan Penal Code and launched a search for the suspects. Meanwhile, 25-year-old Riyaz was killed by unknown people in Lundianwala and his body was hanged in a well.
Rescue teams reached the spot and handed over the body to the police after retrieving it from the well.
The police took the body into custody, shifted it to a hospital for post-mortem and started an investigation to apprehend the murderers.
