Police thwart woman’s suicide bid with two kids

The police foiled an attempt by a woman to commit suicide along with her two children over domestic abuse at Head Panjnad.

According to the Alipur police, the woman from Wasandawali tried to jump into a canal along with her 10-year-old son and 12-year-old daughter over a domestic dispute.

Head Constable Qazi Kashif and Constable Muhammad Ayaz, who were on duty at Head Panjnad, rescued the woman and her children.

The woman, identified as Samina, was forcibly taking her children towards the canal when the police intervened and apprehended them.

Upon questioning, Samina revealed that she intended to commit suicide along with her children due to domestic abuse by her husband.

The police officials took the woman and her children into protective custody and informed the relevant police station to arrange their handover to their relatives.

The SHO summoned the woman's relatives to the police station and handed over her and the children to them. APP
