Hardik Pandya and Natasa Stankovic call it quits
In a twist that’s set the gossip leagues buzzing, Indian cricket star Hardik Pandya and his dazzling wife, Natasa Stankovic, have announced their split after four years of marriage, India Today reported. The high-profile couple, who first crossed paths in a nightclub in 2018, confirmed their separation in a heartfelt IG statement on Thursday, putting an end to months of swirling rumours.
“After 4 years of being together, we tried our best together and gave it our all, and we believe this is in the best interest of both of us. This was a tough decision for us to make, given the joy, mutual respect, and companionship we enjoyed together and as we grew a family,” the statement read.
While their relationship has officially concluded, their dedication to their 3-year-old son shines through, ensuring that Agastya will remain their top priority amid the split. “We are blessed with Agastya, who will continue to be at the centre of both our lives and we will co-parent to ensure that we give him everything that we can for his happiness. We sincerely request your support and understanding to give us privacy during this difficult and sensitive time.”
Pandya and Stankovic, who made headlines with their fairy-tale engagement on January 1, 2020, and subsequent lockdown wedding on May 31, 2020, are now seeking privacy as they navigate this “difficult and sensitive” chapter.
Earlier, a close friend of the former couple gave a statement stating that the reason for the strain in this couple’s marital life lies with Pandya, while Stankovic is not keen on repairing the relationship.
According to Indian media, the friend is reported to have said, “We don’t know what will happen in the coming days, but currently, Pandya and Stankovic don’t want to improve their strained relationship, and it seems that their relationship may not continue.”
Furthermore, amidst speculation about his divorce, a photo of Pandya with a female fan sparked online chatter, with many linking their names together. However, the female fan, reportedly a social media influencer, promptly clarified that she is merely a fan who feels fortunate to have met the World Cup-winning cricketer.
Previously, rumours were fueled due to the absence of the model from Pandya’s congratulatory posts and her silence amidst his win at Team India’s T20 World Cup victory.
