Prince Harry and Meghan Markle delay UK house hunt over security concerns
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have halted their plans to buy a house in the UK due to unresolved security concerns, reports Express.co.uk.
The couple had intended to find a part-time home near Windsor this year but have delayed their search pending the resolution of their security issues with the Home Office.
"Harry really does want to spend more time in the UK but doesn’t feel comfortable doing that until the security issues have been ironed out," said a source close to the couple. "He and Meghan planned on looking for a part-time home near Windsor this year and hoped that the appeals process would be heard before the end of July so that they could properly start their search. However, the court process seems to be taking its time."
In June, the Duke of Sussex was granted permission to appeal against a High Court ruling that dismissed his challenge over the downgrade of his personal security when visiting the UK. The court process, however, is taking longer than anticipated.
Prince Harry first took legal action against the Home Office in 2020, and despite a ruling in February deeming the security decision lawful, he continues to pursue the case. "This issue is very important to Harry," the source added. The delay in resolving these issues has put their UK house hunt on hold.
