Karachi airport passes security check

The Canadian authority for civil aviation, Transport Canada, has successfully completed an aviation security assessment of Karachi’s Jinnah International Airport, declaring the security arrangements satisfactory and up to international standards.

According to the spokesperson of the Airport Security Force (ASF), a two-member team from Transport Canada, led by Barbara Durrant, arrived at Jinnah International Airport on July 15 for a three-day aviation security assessment.

The purpose of this assessment was to evaluate aviation security at the airport against international standards and to examine additional security measures for direct Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) flights to Canada.

During the visit, the ASF chief security officer in Karachi briefed the team.

Throughout the assessment, the inspection team thoroughly examined the implementation of various security measures at the airport, with a particular focus on the additional measures being adopted for PIA’s direct flights to Canada.
