ISLAMABAD. Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) and Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) have initiated contact after a three-week lull and decided to form committees to find a ‘common ground’, sources revealed on Friday.

According to sources, Asad Qaiser met with JUI-F chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman at the latter’s residence Thursday night. Both PTI and JUI-F agreed to formal negotiations at the committee level.

The meeting, also attended by Abdul Ghafoor Haideri, focused on the country’s political, economic, constitutional, and parliamentary issues.

The leaders discussed the country’s political situation, economic issues, constitutional matters, and parliamentary affairs.

According to insiders, Asad Qaiser informed the Maulana that PTI has already formed a committee for the talks. He also provided details about the members of PTI’s negotiation committee. In response, JUI-F leadership assured that it would soon establish its own negotiation committee and inform PTI about its members.
