Sharjeel announces PBS new routes

KARACHI:

The Sindh government has announced the launch of three new routes and the extension of one route for the Peoples Bus Service to improve public transport in Karachi. The new routes will be operational from Monday, July 22, 2024.

According to the transport department, on July 22, the Peoples Bus Service will commence route 13, which will run from Hawke's Bay to the Tower. A new electric bus route, EV4, from Bahria Town to Naumaish Chowrangi will start on July 24, while route 8 from Yusuf Goth to Tower will begin on July 25, 2024. Additionally, the department has announced the extension of route 12. From July 23, Route 12 will run from Memon Goth via Quaidabad and Korangi to Tower instead of Khokhrapar.

Sindh Senior Minister Sharjeel Inam Memon on Friday stated that the new routes are part of the Sindh government's efforts to enhance public transport in the city.

"The Sindh government aims to provide affordable, convenient, and comfortable public transport facilities for the citizens", the minister said. He mentioned that more buses will be brought in for the convenience of the citizens and more new routes will be introduced. He emphasised that the Sindh government is committed to serve the people without discrimination.
