Top trio awaits NOCs for Canada event
The fourth edition of the Global T20 Canada League is scheduled to take place from July 25 to August 11. However, the event has yet to receive approval from the ICC, with a decision expected soon.
Some sources indicate that the organizers have not yet paid their dues to Cricket Canada, and approval will only be granted once this issue is resolved.
Additionally, there have been reports of alleged suspicious activities and investigations involving a team owner from India, with potentially sensational details expected to emerge in the coming days. The ICC has maintained its policy of not commenting on such issues.
Pakistani stars Shaheen Afridi and Mohammad Nawaz have joined the Toronto Nationals team, while Vancouver Knights have appointed Mohammad Rizwan as captain, with Babar Azam and Mohammad Amir also included in the squad.
However, the PCB has not yet issued NOCs to the players for the event, citing the ICC’s non-approval of the tournament as the reason. Furthermore, PCB announced a few days ago that they are formulating a policy to limit players’ participation in leagues to reduce their workload. However, the complete details have not been revealed yet.
