Jacob Bertrand has previewed an explosive final season for Cobra Kai, revealing that fans should brace for significant relationship drama.

Bertrand, who plays Hawk, discussed the upcoming sixth season with Us Weekly, stating, “There’s a ton of relationship drama.”

He explained that while characters may struggle with communication, the conflicts this season are driven more by complex life situations rather than simple misunderstandings.

Bertrand highlighted the emotional challenges facing Tory Nichols, portrayed by Peyton List, who is grappling with her mother's death and a shift in alliances. Her decision to rejoin John Kreese's Cobra Kai after leaving Miyagi-Do creates tension among the characters.

Bertrand supports Tory’s actions as a response to her personal struggles, noting that her choices, while causing conflict, are justified by her circumstances.

The actor also mentioned that the sixth season will feature heightened drama and intensified situations.

“Season 6 is just bigger. Everything is at a 10. It’s more drama,” Bertrand said. He added that while the drama escalates, the reactions from characters will remain grounded and authentic.

Bertrand reflected on his character’s evolution from Eli to Hawk, suggesting that Hawk is now navigating his aspirations and personal life, potentially diverging from his previous goals. This internal struggle will be explored throughout the remaining episodes, which will show Hawk leaning on his friends for support.

Bertrand also shared insights into his relationships with co-stars William Zabka and Ralph Macchio, highlighting the mentorship he has received from them.

“It’s just fun. They’re just great guys,” Bertrand said. Cobra Kai Season 6, Part 1 is currently streaming on Netflix, with the next segments scheduled for release in November 2024 and 2025.
