CCB approves funds for pension, repairs

RAWALPINDI:

The Chaklala Cantonment Board (CCB) on Thursday approved 40% payments to the pensioners from the amount of Rs17.9 million and Rs200m grant for tenders to repair street lights and roads in the posh areas of Chaklala Scheme 3, Caltex Road and adjacent localities. The Board is currently facing financial stress.

It was also decided that large dumpers won’t be able to pass through Kalma Chowk, Lalazar and Dheri Hassanabad.

The approvals were accorded in the board’s meeting chaired by Station Commander and CCB President Brigadier Ahmed Nawaz. Cantonment Executive Officer Umar Masoom, the elected minister and nominated members participated in the board meeting.

The Board also approved Rs1m development funds for each elected member for their 10 wards and 40 residential building plans.

The participants of the meeting directed to repair and make functional all damaged tube wells and filtration plants of Chaklala Cantt besides carrying out horticulture work on the Old Airport Road, creating green belts and making street lights functional in all cemeteries. The Board further approved the establishment of a medical store in Dheri Hassanabad Dispensary.

The station commander informed the Board meeting that the CCB was getting less water from the Khanpur Dam. “The matter has been raised before the authorities concerned and the issue will be resolved soon,” he added.

Brigadier Ahmed Nawaz directed the staff to focus on the anti-dengue campaign. He gave cash prizes to the sanitation staff for making the best cleaning arrangements on Eidul Azha.
