Baku aids Islamabad beautification drive

A collaborative effort has begun between Islamabad and Baku to enhance the beauty of the federal capital.

In this regard, a team of horticulture experts from Azerbaijan met with Capital Development Authority’s (CDA) Chairman, Muhammad Ali Randhawa, on Thursday.

Initially, Azerbaijani horticulture experts will adorn and landscape four locations in Islamabad. These include Siri Nagar Highway, Shakarparian, Saidpur Village and Melody Food Park.

The CDA Chairman has directed the environmental teams to commence landscaping in various areas of the capital city as per his directives. He emphasised the immediate initiation of the Islamabad Beautification Plan on all sites in the city simultaneously.

The chairman further added that the engineering wing would provide technical assistance and support to the Azerbaijani experts.

Baku’s horticultural experts will gift various tools and machinery to Pakistan. They will also establish a nursery in the federal capital.

CDA Chairman Randhawa said timelines had been set for the beautification of all locations. He added that the landscaping and beautification work across the city should begin simultaneously.
