Man stabs mother-in-law, wife’s cousin

Bid for reconciliation with estranged spouse ends in violence

A man, along with five accomplices, barged into the home of his in-laws in Sara-e-Mughal and injured a woman and a man with a knife.

According to reports, Obaidullah, along with five others, had gone to his in-laws for reconciliation with his estranged wife. However, when she refused to return home with her, he attacked her and her relatives.

When his mother-in-law, Bushra Bibi, tried to intervene, he attacked her with a knife and injured her. His wife’s cousin Khawar was also stabbed in the arm.

Both the injured were shifted to a hospital. Sara-e-Mughal police registered a case against Obaidullah and five others.

Rashida Bibi was married to Obaidullah three years ago and they have a son.

However, the woman suspected that the suspect had extramarital relations, over which the couple fought and Obaidullah allegedly thrashed his wife.

Rashida was angry with her husband and went to her parent’s home.

However, Obaidullah’s parents persuaded Rashida to return to her home.

However, the couple fought again on July 15 and Rashida took her one and a half years old son to her parents’ home. According to Sara-e-Mughal police, Obaidullah and his accomplices went to his in-laws to reconcile with his wife.
