Traffic police issue alternative routes for Muharram procession in Karachi’s Gulistan-e-Johar

Procession will start from Imambargah Sahib-uz-Zaman in Block 14 and culminate at Imambargah Akhari-uz-Zaman in Bl# 19

The Traffic Police issued an advisory on Thursday regarding alternative routes and road closures in Gulistan-e-Johar and Rashid Minhas traffic sections for a Muharram procession, set to take place on Friday.

According to the Traffic Police spokesperson, the procession will start from Imambargah Sahib-uz-Zaman in Gulistan-e-Johar Block 14 and pass through Rado Bakery, Johar Chowrangi, Perfume Chowk, and Johar Mor, culminating at Imambargah Akhari-uz-Zaman in Gulistan-e-Johar Block 19.

Due to the procession, both tracks from Johar Mor to Kamran Chowrangi will be closed from 5pm on Friday to 4:30am on Saturday. Traffic from Drigh Road and Dalmia heading towards Johar Chowrangi will be diverted from Johar Mor to Nipa Flyover before Chase Store, Lal Flat, Overseas Bungalows, Navaid Bungalows, and Haroon Royal City towards Johar Chowrangi Road.

Traffic from Nipa to Drigh Road will be redirected from Aladdin U-turn back to University Road. Vehicles heading into inner Johar will also be rerouted from Avacuee Banquet (Lal Flat) through Overseas Bungalows, Navaidd Bungalows, and Haroon Royal City towards Johar Chowrangi Road.

Traffic from Meteorological Department to Kamran Chowrangi (Hafeez Jalandhari Road) will be diverted before Imambargah Wahdat-ul-Muslimeen from Hescol Pump U-turn through Works Society to Main University Road.

Heavy traffic on Rashid Minhas Road will be completely restricted. Additional Traffic Police personnel will be deployed to maintain traffic flow.

The spokesperson urged the public to use alternative routes to avoid inconvenience and cooperate with law enforcement and traffic police.
