Hulk Hogan to speak at RNC before Donald Trump formally accepts GOP nomination

Hulk Hogan is set to make a surprise appearance on the final night of the Republican National Convention (RNC), joining a line-up of speakers that includes Dana White, CEO of Ultimate Fighting Championship, and Linda McMahon, wife of Vince McMahon.

NBC News first reported Hogan's addition to the line-up. At 70, Hogan recently mentioned on "Fox & Friends" that he is considering entering politics now that he has retired from wrestling. “We need somebody in there that’s got some common sense,” Hogan said. “So, if you need a president or vice president, I’ll volunteer and take this country over, and I’ll rule with an iron fist, a flat tax – nothing but common sense. I know right from wrong, brother," he added.

The final night of the convention traditionally draws the highest viewership, making it the most coveted time slot for speakers. This year's event is notable for the absence of past GOP stalwarts, including former House Speaker Paul Ryan and Trump’s former vice president, Mike Pence, neither of whom are endorsing the GOP nominee. The only other living former Republican president, George W. Bush, last addressed a GOP convention remotely from the White House in 2008.

Other speakers include Tucker Carlson, Trump attorney Alina Habba, former Secretary of State Mike Pompeo, and Franklin Graham. Opera singer Christopher Macchio is scheduled to perform after Trump’s speech, which remains the highlight of the evening.
