Steph Curry grows tired of Kendrick Lamar's ‘Not Like Us’ while LeBron James still loves it

During Team USA's recent exhibition game against Serbia, NBA stars Stephen Curry and LeBron James had differing opinions on Kendrick Lamar's hit song "Not Like Us." Curry, the Golden State Warriors' point guard, voiced his fatigue with the track, stating, "It's not the only song in America."

Conversely, LeBron James of the Los Angeles Lakers remains an enthusiastic fan of the song. Despite Curry's plea for change, James stood firm, responding, "I love it." 

The relationship between Curry and James has evolved over the years, transitioning from fierce rivalry to mutual respect. Both players have acknowledged the "healthy resentment" that once existed during their intense NBA Finals battles. Curry emphasized his respect for James, recognizing the challenge of competing against such a formidable opponent. "It was like a healthy resentment of somebody that’s standing in your way," Curry told Joe Vardon of The Athletic.

Similarly, James reflected on the transient nature of basketball and the importance of nurturing relationships beyond the game. "You don’t want to waste the opportunity to be able to have a relationship with someone," James said. "There’s obviously the utmost respect for who he is as a person and a player."

Kendrick Lamar’s "Not Like Us" continues to top the charts, its widespread popularity reflected in its continuous play. The song, alongside Lamar’s ongoing beef with Drake, has captivated both the music industry and the NBA. However, not everyone is pleased with its pervasive presence, as evidenced by Curry's contrasting view.
