Queen Camilla has carried many fashionable handbags over the years, but this week she surprised royal fans by debuting an iconic purse named after King Charles’ late ex-wife, Princess Diana, for the first time.

The 76-year-old royal showcased her taupe Lady Dior bag ($6,000) while attending Wednesday's Wimbledon tennis championships in London, and she brought it along again the next day for a visit to Wales on Thursday.

Queen Camilla paired her quilted bag with a tan giraffe-print dress by Anna Valentine for the tennis match. The next day, she changed her look, wearing a pink coat dress and an oversized straw hat while visiting the Welsh parliament.

Later in the day, she switched into a bright green maxi dress with a matching cardigan, carrying her new bag to visit Lacock Primary School in England.

According to Dior, Princess Diana grew to admire their designs when Madame Bernadette Chirac, the First Lady of France at the time, gifted her with the fashion house's upcoming "Chouchou" bag in 1995.

Following Diana's frequent appearances with the bag, Dior chose to rename it the "Lady Dior" as a tribute to the royal, affectionately known as Lady Di.

Meghan Markle has also embraced the Lady Dior trend, opting for the designer's updated D-Lite version in a discontinued black style in 2021. In 2022, Dior re-launched the blue satin mini version of the bag, famously worn by Prince William and Prince Harry’s mother to the 1996 Met Gala, for a limited edition release.
