Billy Ray Cyrus wins court motion against Firerose, estranged wife can't use his credit cards
Billy Ray Cyrus, 62, has successfully secured a court order to prevent his estranged wife, Firerose, 37, from accessing and making charges on his credit cards.
The decision, issued by a Tennessee judge on July 10, follows Cyrus's emergency motion citing unauthorized spending by Firerose totaling $96,000 after he filed for divorce in May.
The order mandates both parties to exchange financial statements and engage in mediation by August 31.
A representative for Cyrus declined to comment when approached by PEOPLE. The legal developments come amidst contentious divorce proceedings between Cyrus, known for hits like "Achy Breaky Heart," and Firerose, an Australian musician.
The couple married nearly seven months ago before Cyrus initiated divorce proceedings, citing irreconcilable differences and alleging inappropriate marital conduct.
Firerose, in response to Cyrus's allegations, denied any wrongdoing and argued against the emergency nature of the motion. The legal dispute has escalated with mutual accusations of abuse, including verbal, emotional, and psychological mistreatment, filed by both parties in court documents.
Cyrus additionally accused Firerose of isolating him from his family, which she countered with claims of his strict rules and systematic isolation tactics.
As the divorce proceedings unfold, both Cyrus and Firerose are navigating contentious legal claims and seeking resolution through judicial intervention.
