Quack held for raping girl

Surjani Town police have arrested a man for allegedly raping a 12-year-girl and registered a case against him on the complaint of victim’s mother. The arrested accused named Barkat is said to be a quack doctor.

According to details, Barkat was taken into custody for allegedly abusing a girl (H) in Sector 50F Taiser Town, with in Surjani Town area.

The plaintiff told the police stating, “On July 16, at around two o’clock in the afternoon, she sent her daughter (H) to a nearby shop to get some goods. The girl did not return home even after hours. In the meantime, people of the locality came home and informed me that Barkat had taken the girl to his house.”

The victim’s mother rushed to Barkat’s house where area people were holding Barkat and the victim girl was also there.

The victim told her mother that Barkat had sexually assaulted her. Meanwhile, someone from the neighbourhood informed the 15 police.

SHO Surjani Town, Inspector Akhlaq Ahmed said that medical examination of the girl will reveal the facts.

The home minister issued instructions that safety of the victim girl and her family must also be ensured.

Home Minister Sindh Ziaul-Hasan Linjar took notice of the incident of alleged rape of a teenage girl in Surjani Town and sought a report from SSP District West.
