RAWALPINDI:

Rawalpindi police have finalised security arrangements to ensure foolproof security during Ashura and have begun implementation.

The main procession route has been secured with containers and barriers after thorough sweeping.

Police and security organisations conducted a flag march to demonstrate strength, designating specific entry points for participants.

The vacations of the Rescue 1122 personnel have been curtailed, with over 900 officers and wardens deployed to manage traffic, alongside Rawalpindi police’s total force of more than 6,500 personnel.

A central control room on Liaquat Road oversees the main procession, with police commandos and snipers stationed on rooftops along the route..
