Kim Kardashian criticized for wearing red at Ambani wedding in India: "That’s saved for the bride"

Kim Kardashian was a part of Indian billionaire heir, Anant Ambani, and Radhika Merchant’s wedding in Mumbai.

Instagram users criticized Kim Kardashian for wearing red twice during Indian billionaire heir Anant Ambani and Radhika Merchant’s extravagant three-day wedding in Mumbai, India over the weekend, noting that red is traditionally reserved for Indian brides.

Kardashian, 43, showcased two scarlet outfits during the celebrations: a daring red lehenga on Friday and another bold red ensemble with a long veil on Sunday.

The star began her Indian journey with sister Khloé Kardashian, 40, in a dazzling two-piece outfit adorned with intricate beadwork, featuring a tasseled bra top, matching skirt, and beaded red dupatta.

On Saturday, the Skims founder opted for a stunning pale pink and silver lehenga with a sheer long-sleeved choli and matching dupatta.

Sunday saw Kim donning another red creation by Gaurav Gupta, consisting of a wrapped red fabric top, matching skirt, and striking red veil.

Throughout the events, she adorned herself with hundreds of carats of Lorraine Schwartz jewels, including diamonds, emeralds, and a notable piece featuring a 70-carat diamond chain extending from her ear to a nose ring.

Kim’s choices sparked discussion among her Instagram followers.

“Not supposed to wear red to a wedding in India. That’s saved for the bride,” one fan commented on her post Sunday, while another added, “isn’t wearing red at a Hindu/ Indian wedding equivalent to wearing white to a civil / Christian wedding?”
