Shannen Doherty's ex-husband Ashley Hamilton opens up about her passing

Shannen Doherty's ex-husband, Ashley Hamilton, has broken his silence following her passing. He described Doherty as his "guardian angel," sharing how she supported him through dark times despite their short-lived marriage. Doherty, who battled breast cancer for nearly a decade, passed away on July 13 at the age of 53.

Hamilton, the son of actor George Hamilton and Alana Stewart, expressed to TMZ, his admiration  for Doherty's strength and resilience in facing the disease, particularly as a fellow cancer survivor. He admitted his regret for not reaching out to her after her diagnosis.

Hamilton was Doherty's first husband, and their whirlwind romance led to a marriage in 1993 after dating for less than a month. Doherty filed for divorce in April 1994, later revealing on her podcast that the tumultuous relationship contributed to her being fired from "Beverly Hills, 90210" due to tardiness issues.

Following her marriage to Hamilton, Doherty briefly married poker player Rick Salomon in 2002 before their marriage was annulled. She later wed photographer Kurt Iswarienko in 2011, but they were in the process of divorcing at the time of her death.

Doherty's passing has triggered an outpouring of tributes from fellow actors and friends, including Sarah Michelle Gellar, Holly Marie Combs, Olivia Munn, and Tori Spelling.
