Alec and Hilaria Baldwin experienced a wave of relief after the dismissal of Alec's involuntary manslaughter trial in the fatal 2021 shooting of cinematographer Halyna Hutchins on the set of "Rust." However, the couple acknowledges that more legal battles lie ahead as Hutchins' family continues their pursuit of justice through civil court.

A source close to the Baldwins revealed to Us Weekly that the couple, along with their children, left New Mexico immediately after the ruling to return to their home in New York. While grateful for the dismissal, they understand that the situation remains emotionally challenging and anticipate further legal proceedings.

Attorney Gloria Allred, representing Hutchins' family members in Ukraine, emphasized that the judge's ruling does not absolve Baldwin of responsibility and confirmed that the legal battle will continue in civil court. Allred's clients filed a civil suit in Santa Fe, seeking accountability for Hutchins' death.

Judge Mary Morlowe Sommer dismissed the involuntary manslaughter charges against Baldwin after ruling that prosecutors had withheld evidence, stating that dismissal was the only appropriate remedy. Alec, who had pleaded not guilty, expressed his gratitude for the support he received throughout the ordeal.

Halyna Hutchins' husband, Matthew Hutchins, released a statement through his attorney affirming their respect for the court's decision while expressing their determination to present all evidence to a jury and hold Baldwin accountable for his actions in Hutchins' tragic death.

The dismissal of Alec Baldwin's charges marks a significant development in the ongoing legal saga surrounding the "Rust" shooting, but the fight for justice continues as the civil lawsuit proceeds.
