Rain alert in Nawabshah

Shaheed Benazirabad (Nawabshah) Division Commissioner Syed Muhammad Sajjad Haider on Monday emphasised that with the onset of monsoon rains, the administration of the three districts and all relevant departments should establish a control room.
The division had suffered colossal losses in the 2022 floods, prompting the establishment to take proactive measures to mitigate any rain related losses.
Municipal and town administrations, Salinity Control and Reclamation Projects (SCARP), irrigation, public health, and other related departments have been put on alert. Haider directed the relevant officers to ensure the cleaning of drains and sewers, the presence of dewatering machinery, generators, and fuel at sewer pumping stations for effective rainwater drainage.
