Man slaughters two daughters
In a shocking incident, a man allegedly slaughtered his two daughters with a sharp object and injured his wife and brother over a minor dispute in Tench Bhatta, within the jurisdiction of RA Bazar police station.
The police arrested the accused, identified as Usman, a government employee, and seized the murder weapon. The Rawalpindi police spokesperson said that a case of double murder has been registered at RA Bazar police station.
Upon receiving information about the incident, the police reached the crime scene and found the bodies of four-year-old Anush and 10-year-old Laraib in a pool of blood. Usman’s wife and brother also suffered serious stab injuries.
Rescue 1122 teams also reached the spot and shifted the injured woman and man to the hospital, where they remain in critical condition. Both victims suffered severe neck injuries.
DSP Cantt Circle, Mirza Javed, told The Express Tribune that the accused killed his daughters and injured his wife and brother over a domestic dispute, but the case is being investigated from multiple angles.
Javed added that the accused was covered in blood when arrested.
Javed further said that both the deceased girls died due to excessive bleeding. A forensic team of the police have collected evidence from the scene. The bodies of the girls have been shifted to the District Headquarters Hospital for post-mortem examination.
Usman Jat, a Rescue 1122 official, stated that the rescue teams promptly provided first aid to the injured woman and man before transferring them to the hospital.
The hospital administration confirmed that the woman underwent surgery for serious neck injuries and has been moved to the ICU.
The accused was also brought to the hospital for medical examination before being formally arrested. According to hospital sources, Usman is mentally and physically stable.
The investigation has been transferred to the Homicide Unit, with further details expected following the post-mortem reports.
