PTI activist Sanam Javed handed over to Balochistan Police

PTI worker will soon be presented before a judge at a local court in Islamabad

Islamabad Police have handed over Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) worker and social media activist Sanam Javed to Balochistan Police, Express News reported.

According to sources, Javed will soon be presented before a judge at a local court in Islamabad and after securing the transit remand, the PTI worker will be transferred to Balochistan.

This ongoing cycle of arrests follows Javed's repeated releases by the courts. Yesterday, the District and Sessions Court in Islamabad rejected the FIA’s request for Javed's physical remand and ordered her release. However, police re-arrested her immediately after her release.

Javed's father approaches IHC

Meanwhile, Sanam Javed's father has approached the Islamabad High Court (IHC) seeking the release of his daughter.

He filed a petition requesting that Sanam Javed be presented before the court and immediately released from what he claims is 'unlawful detention'. The petition also calls for details of the cases against her to be provided and for any further proceedings on these cases to be halted.

The petition names the federal government, FIA, IG Islamabad, and others as respondents, requesting the court to declare Sanam Javed's detention or abduction as illegal.
