Marvel Studios has revealed significant changes to the character of Ruth Bat-Seraph for her MCU debut in Captain America: Brave New World.

Unlike her comic book counterpart, Sabra, a mutant Israeli superhero and Mossad agent, the MCU's Ruth will be a former Black Widow working for the U.S. government.

The decision to reimagine the character comes after controversy surrounding her connection to the Israel-Palestine conflict. Notably, the character will be referred to as Ruth rather than Sabra, a name linked to a 1982 massacre in Lebanon.

The change has sparked mixed reactions from fans, with some questioning the decision to keep the name Ruth. Marvel Studios has not yet commented on the matter.

Despite the controversy, the casting of Israeli actress Shira Haas as Ruth has been met with excitement. Haas has previously appeared in various films and TV series, including "Asia" and "The Zookeeper's Wife."

The Captain America: Brave New World trailer also revealed other exciting details, such as the first appearance of Red Hulk. Fans are eager to see how the MCU will continue to evolve with these new additions.
