Football: Colts head for AFC qualifiers

The team’s campaign commences against Maldives, followed by a game against Kuwait two days later.

After winning the South Asian Football under-16 Championship in Nepal, Pakistan’s young brigade are hopeful of a good showing in the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) U-16 Championship 2012 qualifiers being held in Kuwait from September 12.



Pakistan has been placed in Group B along with UAE, Yemen, Kuwait, Maldives and Afghanistan. The team’s campaign commences against Maldives, followed by a game against Kuwait two days later and then a tough match against UAE on September 17. They face Afghanistan on September 19 and finally play Yemen on September 22. The top two teams will qualify for next year’s tournament.
